  Nitrogen dioxide monitoring transects
Heather Brookes   31. May 2010 at 16:09  ·  views: 1805  back to rraf
To measure nitrogen dioxide and oxides of nitrogen concentrations in transects perpendicular to major roads with sampling taking place in transects perpendicular to major roads with sampling taking place in transects running from the road edge out to about 200m. The monitoring should take place in a variety of environments so that the effect of those environments on dispersion can be determined. The effect of the following on dispersion should be investigated: surface roughness, road width, vehicle speed, noise barrier, dense vegetative screen, cuttings, embankments and elevated road. Monitoring will take place over a three month period using NO2 diffusion tubes and Ogawa samplers.
